Vaginal Rejuvenation
& Urinary Incontinence

As our bodies go through life changes such as pregnancy and menopause, the condition of our vagina changes and ages as well. Vaginal ageing is what contributes to genital urinary disorders such as dryness, laxity and stress urinary incontinence.

What Is Vaginal Rejuvenation?

Vaginal rejuvenation restores the following functions that are typically affected by ageing:

• Hydration: to improve vaginal dryness

• Tightness: to improve vaginal laxity

• Healthy pH of the lining of the vaginal wall: to reduce vaginal infections (vaginitis), which can be recurrent in some women

• Healthy bladder function: to improve Stress Urinary Incontinence, which occurs when physical activities such as laughing, sneezing, coughing put pressure on your bladder and cause you to leak urine

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy & Vaginal Lasers For Vaginal Rejuvenation and Stress Urinary Incontinence

In Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy, a sample of your blood is taken to separate the platelets (which contain growth factors and proteins that are important for regeneration) using a machine. The concentration is then re-injected back into a specific area to accelerate the growth of healthy new cells. This is a noninvasive and mostly painless procedure.

For the treatment of stress urinary incontinence, the PRP concentration is injected into the glands that sit close to the urine tract to promote the growth of tissues that allow you to hold your urine and helps to stop the incontinence.

PRP Therapy can also work hand in hand with Vaginal Lasers for vaginal rejuvenation. After the lasers create multiple tiny holes in the vagina, the milieu of growth factors in the PRP is injected into them. Once absorbed, the concentration will rejuvenate the vagina by boosting hydration (to improve dryness) and promoting collagen production (to improve tightness).

How Do Vaginal Lasers Help?

If vaginal ageing is caused by lack of estrogen, then logically, replacing the estrogen should resolve the symptoms of vaginal dryness, laxity, urinary incontinence and recurrent vaginal infections.

However, estrogen replacement in the form of hormone replacement therapy comes with its own set of setbacks and should absolutely not be used in women with a history of breast cancers or blood clots.

Those who are not suitable for or not interested in undergoing estrogen therapy can turn to vaginal lasers for the local management of the symptoms of vaginal dryness, vaginal laxity, urinary incontinence and recurrent vaginal infections.

FAQ

Can vaginal dryness also affect younger women?

Yes! Dryness is experienced by many women particularly at the entrance of the vagina. It’s not a condition exclusive to only menopausal women. Younger women can also experience this. Read more about it here.

How do I tell if I have vaginal laxity?

Here are some ways to identify vaginal laxity.

How do I tell if I have urinary incontinence?

Here is a checklist for normal bladder function. If these signs do not apply to you, we recommend visiting a doctor to get properly checked.

Why is PRP Therapy good for managing stress urinary incontinence?

PRP Therapy studies have shown growing numbers of success rates at diminishing the symptoms of early stage stress urinary incontinence. Most importantly, PRP Therapy is noninvasive – in other words, it does not require surgery.

What should I take note of before going for vaginal laser treatment?

Before going for a vaginal laser treatment, make sure that your doctor checks the following:

• Pap smear must be normal

• Pregnancy test must be negative

• History of genital herpes must be elucidated – if you have a history of genital herpes, then you will need to be pre-treated with antiviral tablets a few days before the vaginal laser procedure to prevent a genital herpes flare

How often will I need the laser treatment?

For vaginal dryness, vaginal laxity or stress urinary incontinence, treatments should be done once every 4 weeks for about 3 sessions.

For vaginal rejuvenation, the remodeling of the newly formed collagen in the vaginal walls needs to be maintained. Depending on the results, maintenance can be done once every 1-2 years or even every 3-4 years.

Last week (13th Feb 2020) was my first visit to this clinic. I was very impressed and satisfied with InSync Medical Women's Clinic. Dr. Jess was very attentive and detailed in examining my situation. Her explanation was very clear and understandable. With her patience, I was able to ask lots of questions and understand my situation much better than before. (Thank you, Dr. Jess) Price wise, it is reasonable and I would HIGHLY recommend this clinic. Again, thank you!

I am soooooo glad I went here to have my concernssorted. I have no words how comfortable I am after she had me checked up. Her hands are very light aswell. It's like having a class about our body parts. She explained my result that I had back in Bangkok than the doctor I had there. How I wish there is someone like her that will make sure all our questions and concerns are answered. She's the best of best. Highly recommend her. Price is reasonable too. Just thank you Dr.Jess and her assistant Aisyah. Have a wonderful day always.

Dr Jess is an amazing doctor with a beautiful heart. What I really love about her is that is super realistic. She does not promise rapid/fake results. She is very humble and I really like it that spent her time to talk and explain to me about my condition in detail. I have been to so many other doctors for the same. They will just talk briefly and try to push me to start the treament on the spot / nurses will start discussing on pricing.Wasted my time and money in the wrong clinic before. However, Dr Jess is just different. She is not greedy. Very helpful and high level of professionlism and empathy. And her staff Hani is super sweet too. Customer service top notch. Sometime I send message so late when i need something urgently. Hani will still reply to me patiently. I am so lucky I finally found the best doctor and her assitant for my lady needs 🙂 . I only have one regret-I didnt find them earlier.
